Creating a Culture of Security With Employee Engagement

ycXom-Scottinsession.jpg

One of the biggest challenges in creating a culture of security is to get people engaged in the conversation. Many employees have been exposed to awareness programs before, but for many reasons, didn't see results.

How is the Streetwise approach different?

In order to engage themselves properly, I believe employees have to perceive a number of key truths or "drivers" in their work environment:

  1. There is a need for change in the organization's culture
  2. Management recognizes that need for change
  3. There is a defined process for succeeding with the transformation
  4. The process for succeeding depends on both staff participation and  management commitment
  5. Their work environment will improve in multiple ways if they commit themselves to the process

The Streetwise Security Awareness Process opens students' minds to see they can make a difference without necessarily expecting management to "tell them what to do".

I have created a Security Awareness training presentation that can be used to bring the problems of securing workflows into focus for everyone in the organization.

Two effective options you can use to save you time and engage your team are described below.

Option 1 - Computer Based Training (CBT) on Your Own Intranet Site

Now, you can control the content and host your own security awareness training and reference website in a simple and affordable package. This Intranet site provides everything you need to indoctrinate your staff into the common threats and best practices associated with working on the Internet, in the office and at home. The Streetwise Security Awareness CBT can be used for orientation of staff, as well as for periodic refreshing of awareness. When you don't have the time or resources to set up live training sessions for all of your staff, this is an excellent way to engage employees and teach them the fundamentals of security at their own pace, and at times that are convenient for them. You can even track their participation and evaluate their comprehension of the material, if that is important to you, for IT governance reasons.

For more information, or a quote on a CBT package for your organization, please contact me today at the coordinates below or click HERE to fill in a request for more information on tailoring, pricing and available time slots.

Option 2 - "Live Online" Streetwise Security Awareness Program Training

In the "Live Online" Streetwise Security Awareness Program Training sessions, I can train everyone in your organization in a live, cost-effective webinar-style presentation. I'll provide you with the softcopy student question workbooks to be printed and handed out ahead of time. Then all you need is for students to be available  in any facility with an Internet-connected computer that has audio speakers or headphones to view and hear the live training presentation. Training can even be done in a conference room for a group of employees, if the room is equipped with a projector and sound system that can be driven from an Internet-connected computer. Training can also be split into multiple, shorter sessions to suit your time preferences. Pricing starts at $1999 US per session - so a live training session can easily be conducted for less than $100 per person (based on 20 students... For 100+ students in a session, the cost can be less than $50 per person). Please contact me today at the coordinates below or click HERE to fill in a request for more information on tailoring, pricing and available time slots.

Note: Live Online training is delivered using the industry leading webinar products - Citrix GoToMeeting or Citrix GoToWebinar - depending on the size of the group. This allows for options like text chat and two-way audio for Q&A during or after the session. It also means that students simply need to follow a link to enter the training session. The Citrix facilities are very simple for students to access and use.
