1st anniversary of the Social Media Security Podcast - Facebook's Places, Remote Logout and more
Friday, September 10th 2010 @ 11:46 PM (not yet rated)
After one year and 18 episodes of the Social Media Security Podcast "exposing the risks of social media on the Internet", the good news is: "Our audience is growing", but the bad news is: "Social Media risks are growing, too". Tom Eston and I (Scott Wright) have had no shortage of material to discuss regarding the risks facing users of social media and social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and Linked In.
In our anniversary episode, we cover risks such as:
- Facebook risks from RFID tag promotions;
- Hacking locations based on Facebook Places;
- Privacy settings for Facebook Places;
- Scams and spam propagating faster on Facebook than anywhere else;
- Facebook remote logout security feature; and
- My Space privacy settings.
It sounds like we're picking on Facebook a lot this month, but as Tom says, "It's just so easy". Does this tell you something?
