You have to be careful when using statistics to prove your point. Most people forget that statistics can be fudged to make whatever point you want.

But in the absence of any other information, statistics can sometimes be useful to assess your situation.

I expect there will be a lot of discussion for any items posted here. This is actually a healthy exercise; to look at all interpretations and assumptions. Please don't take criticism of a statistic personally. As they say, 60% of all statistics are fabricated, anyway!
