Author's Self-Rating: V-T-BBB - This is a really interesting survey of European small businesses. It supports a lot of our basic premises. The UK's SME Web covers the story with a very good summary (click HERE).

The bottom line is...

Most small businesses think they are secure because they have not suffered a loss... yet; and as a result, they are not even aware of the threats and risks. They don't know about phishing, minnowing, whaling, rootkits, botnets or pharming... all of these can be mitigated, for the most part, by having good security awareness from the executives down to the janitors.

Don't worry. You will learn about these things very soon, won't you?
