Risks in the News

According to a story in the Sunday Herald (UK), and a few other online media sites, the central booking computer system for Best Western was hacked into, exposing anyone who has stayed at one of their 1312 international hotels since 2007. The Best Western site itself has not posted any information about the incident, so I can't say it has been completely verified.

The thieves sold the username an password of a privileged account to an unknown number of other criminals, exposing names, addresses, telephone numbers, credit card numbers, and places of employment for all guests who have booked there since 2007.

If you have stayed there during this time period, you should contact Best Western for more information.
