A survey of 250 Directors of Information Technology performed by a European company called LSI indicates that 41% of them feel that employee misuse of corporate networks is their biggest threat.

Traditional hackers were identified by 21% of the IT Directors as their biggest threat.

Of course, if your organization isn't big enough to have a Director of IT, then they probably didn't ask you. But still, this is an indicator that you should not ignore. Insiders often have motive, means and opportunity to commit crimes against their employers.
