In this article at:

http://www.northumberlandgazette.co.uk/latest-national-news/Arrest-made-over-%20-eBay-computer.4439016.jp

...yet another computer containing sensitive personal information on it has been discovered by an eBay purchaser. The computer was purchased for about $10. There has been one arrest, presumably somebody in the organization that had disposed of the computer without properly removing the personal information.

There was also a similar incident within the past few weeks where a computer containing over 1 million sensitive records was received by a purchaser. They had bought it for about $50.

It is extremely important that when equipment is being discarded, any disk drives that may have contained sensitive information on them must be either electronically "wiped" by secure deletion software, or the drives shouldl be physically destroyed.
