IBM is releasing a new hardware-based disk encryption solution for about $1000 which is supposed to be easy to install, and takes much of the worry out of operating computer systems securely.

Given the recent rash of computers that have been bought on eBay that had easily readable sensitive information on them, this solution might be worthwhile, if only for saving the cost of disposing of the disks when the computer is no longer needed.
