Subject: Week 2 - LIVE Streetwise Security Edge Townhall The Streetwise Security Edge Townhall Sessions posted by ScottWright on Monday, January 11th 2010 @ 2:14 PM
If you want to have a laugh, watching a techie wannabe (me) struggling with technology, join me at 4:00pm EST today live in The Streetwise Security Zone for the Streetwise Security Edge townhall session, a live video chat room where we'll be discussing this week's news in security - after we've ironed out the technical glitches.
I originally planned to do this show on the website Ustream.tv, but could not get sufficiently good audio quality with my guest co-host, Bruce Cowper of Microsoft Canada. He's been a good sport to suffer through several trial runs. But I think we have a solution in our own Video Chat feature. I'm glad we'll be able to include Bruce as a co-host.
The video chat room in the Streetwise Security Zone lets everyone chat by text, and if you have a webcam and microphone, you can use it to broadcast your sound and video, as well. The reasons I didn't try to use it initially, is that it doesn't have a facility for recording the video, and doesn't have a way for me to present the slides I like to put up around the topic. But, let's go ahead with the live townhall anyway. I'm game if you are...
So, I hope to see you at 4pm EST today. If you aren't a Streetwise Security Zone member yet, you'll have to register and log in so that you can join the chat room. Once you get to the event page, just follow the instructions for using the Video Chat Room.
After the townhall session, feel free to post comments in this forum or send me a note.
